The AGP support event is contested in front of a massive international crowd, and, although not for points, is a significant victory for any V8 Supercar team to take. Both Lowndes and Whincup have tasted success here in past seasons, with Whincup dominant in 2011. In 2012, drivers will contest a unique four-race format, with the opener featuring a ‘drop-out’ system where the lowest place cars each lap drop out of the race. The eventual winner is decided on points gained across all four races.
