New circuits, good bad or ugly ?.

I really think that the new race tracks are a good thing for the championship.
They offer a new challenge and new viewing opportunities for us all. They help with funding of the championship and its financial strength. The fact that they are OS is really not an issue, how many spectators go to every round.

Is there really any down side .

been reading on other sites that alot of ppl upset 1st round not in aust.Me personally dont care and love the fact they racing on totally different tracks than they are used too.i love Bahrain as to the amount of passing is 2nd to none in this series compared to other circuits in aust.Just hope teeams give away trips next year or get a tour organized by t8 and go as a group and spend time with the drivers.that would be a great holiday, someone give roland a call get a private plane organized

    Brain.

What you fail to relise is that if the championship continues an expansion programe overseas it WILL come at the expense of our own home curcuits. That is unless Mr Cockroach expands the series to 20 rounds but I dought that will ever happen.

I think the new circuits are great. Maybe in future they race the circuits overseas in the middle of the year or something - not the start of the year :-)

peter c that wont happen did you see how much money was given to the series to go over there,we need this to both go globally and to survive, some of our tracks here are a disgrace so to get to watch a supercar race on the best tracks in the world is a bonus.we can only dream to go to all circuits in a year so to watch them run around the best track in the world under lights instead of somewhere like eastern creek im all for it.i live 10 mins away from the creek and wqould rather watch those races on tv then go to the creek

The New Circuits overseas are to big, they allow the driver to day dream or try something new and if it doesn't work they just rejoin the track when they think about racing again. But the new circuits over here are brilliant I like Sydney because the moment a driver drifts off they hit something and the winner is worthy of a win because they were on the ball the whole time.

Unforunatly they are Bland,Boring and best suited for F1 than the V8's. The money would have been better spent on our own curcuiuts here is Austarlia, extra overseas rounds will come at a cost of the local tracks. Just look at Barbagello,Oran Park (urban sprawl) QRW and Winton under threat. So whats next then.??

Abu Dhabi was fantastic, specially under lights. Bahrain was better but I still find it a little boring & to big for V8 Supercars. If only we could have tracks a tenth as good as Abu Dhabi in Australia.
